I am very sad to hear that due to ill health, Bill Dowsing is forced to sell his Clyno fleet. Bill has kindly sent some photographs of the vehicles which are shown below together with Bill’s comments about each of the vehicles. If you are interested then Bill can be contacted on 01483 474841, or via email: ann852@talktalk.com
“Firstly the Clyno motorbike which is a 1920 model 269cc 2-stroke. as I explained I bought this motor cycle from Fred Smith of Sherfield English in 1989. It has had little use since then. when I displayed it I either took it by trailer or on the back of my pick-up to the display site where it was ridden around the display arena. The agreed insurance price is £4,500. Secondly the Clyno tourer which is a 1927 Royal Model 10.8 HP. It is taxed until June 2010 but not moted which has just run out. (it has done no more than five miles since the last mot in 2008). The car is running perfectly and the agreed value for insurance purposes is £8,500. (I have owned this car since 1982).
Thirdly the 1926 Clyno 10.8hp van has never been used on the road since it was built by me (and others!). The body was constructed on a Clyno chassis from original Clyno literature by a body-builder in South Wales. The agreed value at the time was £9,500, can be driven, has been driven but at the moment the magneto needs attention. It is currently taxed until September and it is MOT exempt, provided a completed form V112G is obtained. DVLA inspected the van for registration purposes and explained this form. The proviso is that it must not carry goods for hire or reward.
The above are the minimum prices I am looking for. “
